The November meeting was held on the 13th November. There was an overview of the medicinal, culinary, essential oil and growing characteristics of the herbs commonly used for stuffing, namely rosemary, sage and thyme. There was a display table and appropriate herbal drink and nibbles for morning tea. We then went outside for a hands on workshop on plant propagation, an opportunity for learning and practising whilst building up a supply of herbs to be sold at the Lavender farm open day in the New Year. A group went over to Wainouiomata and had a lovely morning visiting a herbal garden filled with useful and beautiful weeds and then toured and had lunch at another beautiful garden, thanks to Carmel for organising. |
